The program requires one week of residency each year, (two total weeks), but all other classes may be taken online. Depending on how many classes your schedule allows, the program may be completed in as little as two years, but on average, takes three years to complete. Students who have prior schooling may transfer in up to 12 credits. Once admitted into the program, you may choose from a Homeland Security, Public Management, or a Nonprofit Management related track.

    Application requirements include at least five years of professional experience, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, official transcripts, a resume, and current GRE/GMAT scores. Applications are accepted for the fall, spring, or summer semesters. The Master of Public Service and Administration degree at Texas A&M is accredited by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs, and Administration (NASPAA).

As a student in the joint JD/MPA program, students can count six credits of law school classes toward their Master of Public Administration, while they count an equal number of MPA classes towards a law degree.
